♔Lahash Asmodai ♠ אשמדאי ; Ashmedai ; aēšma-daēva ; Ἀσμοδαῖος ; "Prince of Lechery"♔ |
In rabbinic lore, Lahash was a great angel who, with the aid of Zakun, led 184 myriads of spirits to snatch away the prayer of Moses before it could reach God (the prayer to extend Moses’s life). When Lahash met Moses, he felt pity and refused to complete the task at hand. Zakun was forced to finish it alone. ♚ | Wagers were made, as they had been many times between Lucifer and God. Lahash was a divine being by nature, yet did a very unholy act without provocation by going against God’s wishes. God sentenced him to punishment at Lucifer's hand with a curious wager. Could Lucifer break Lahash of all that was holy within him? For this attempt at interference with divine will, Lucifer (Samael) metes out the punishment on Lahash by “binding him with fiery chains, flogging him with 70 stripes of fire, and expelling him from the divine presence.” ♚ | Broken, he allowed any bit of Holy Light to be drawn from his body and his form taking that of a demon. The only remnants of his once beautiful Heavenly Form are his wings which are now stained black and ragged as if tar has been poured over the once white feathers. Upon taking this new form he took a new name, Asmodai. Banished, lost, and corrupted, he was left to wander for years till seeking refuge in Hell after pledging his mind and body over. ♚ |
Lahash – a quiet whispering prayer; a sorrowful consciousness of a sin that crushes so completely that a man does not dare to address God aloud (Isa 29:14) SSWS FAQ ♔ VERSE INFO ♔ EASY TO READ (FULL)BIO ♔ CONTACT ♔ profile |
